MONTEVERTINE, SANGIOVESE, "ROSSO DI TOSCANA," TUSCANY, ITALY 2022

Montevertine started in 1968 when Sergio Manetti acquired a property in the high elevation town of Radda in Chianti in the heart of Chianti Classico. Manetti was a firm believer of the quality wines Sangiovese can produce, and therefore left the Chianti Classico Consortio that required at the time the use of the white- and neutral- grape variety, Trebbiano Toscano.

That switch established Montevertine as one of Tuscany's original Super Tuscans, with the first release in 1981 However, unlike other Super Tuscans, such as Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Tignanello, etc. that are based on International grape varieties, Montevertine's aim was to produce exceptional quality wines solely with the native Sangiovese.

The Montevertine Sangiovese "Rosso di Toscana" 2022 hails from the renowned Tuscany region of Italy. This wine is characterized by its vibrant notes of red cherry, plum, and subtle earthiness, showcasing the classic Sangiovese profile that embodies the terroir of this prestigious area.
