Sommer Winery- From Austria to Geneva!

We are excited to welcome Leo Sommer from Donnerskirchen, Austria at Aszú Wines & Spirits! Join us for a casual walk-around tasting on Sunday, June 25th; 5pm - 8pm

Leo will be in attendance to pour some of their amazing wines!

Weingut Sommer has been involved in winemaking in Leithaberg since 1698. Leo Sommer, along with his wife Kathrin took over control from Leo's father in 2023. Although Leo's father was still working in the cellar when I visited them back in 2023.

Based at the village of Donnerskirchen in the heart of Leithaberg, they produce wines with depth, complexity and sense of place. Leithaberg is located 1 hour away south of Vienna on the western side of Neusiedlersee on east-facing slopes. The ideal exposure, along with the warm influence of the Pannonian Plain, Leithaberg is known, not only for Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, but for Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling and red wines from Blaufränkisch.
